Increasing distribution of fake cosmetics…Authenticity check with HiddenTag 

Recently, Incheon Customs found that the inflow of counterfeit products into Korea is increasing due to the grow of the online sales connected with COVID-19 and changes in consumption trends.

In response, Incheon Customs has been intensively cracking down on counterfeit cosmetics and perfumes brought into Korea by sea freight from China.

As a result of the operation, 320 overseas famous brand cosmetics and 416 perfumes were found to be counterfeit, and it all will be discarded according to regulations.

It was discovered that they were brought via online transactions, and it was understood that the seller tricked consumers selling fake products at a lower price.

An official from Incheon Customs said, "These danger of fake cosmetics needs more careful attention as it’s closely related not only to the economy but also to the health of consumers."

Meanwhile, CK&B revealed that several cosmetic brands are using `Hidden Tag`, a genuine product authentication solution to prevent counterfeit and trademark infringement.
